STRIVING FOR A "BETTER LOWNDES COUNTY"
We are proud to be located in beautiful Lowndes County, Alabama, with its rich civil rights history. Our mission is to share sometimes alternative views about subjects that affect the lives of working class people.We aren’t afraid of those touchy subjects….politics, religion, race and the ills of society, and that’s because we are inspired by the courage of Queen Esther and Gideon in the Christian Bible (thus the name Esther’s Trumpet).
We believe in tolerance and inclusion and are therefore open to the lessons of other religions. At present, two newspapers run weekly columns by ET; the Progressive Era out of Wilcox County and the Marion Times from Perry County, Alabama. Articles from ET may be reproduced, as long as there are no changes, and shared with others.We invite YOUR opinions and input! The people have been quiet for too long. Through this website, we hope to inspire open discussion and education.Esther’s Trumpet is nonprofit.
